Marcus Hamley, age 43, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Marcus Jess Hamley was born on January 22, 1980 in Rolla, ND to Mark and Betty (Johnson) Hamley.  He was raised in Belcourt and graduated from TMCHS in 1998. Marcus continued his education and was nearing completion of his BS. He liked his job working as a librarian for the college. Marcus was a loving son, brother, and uncle.  He was a talented musician, singer, writer, and poet. Marcus loved music and going to concerts with his brothers. He valued knowledge and politics.  He enjoyed collecting crystals, leading a book club and cooking for his family.  He loved time spent with his family members and was close with his brothers.  He had a special bond with his nephew Wes and many projects together.  Marcus will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Marcus is survived by his parents, Mark and Betty Hamley of Belcourt; siblings, Micheal Hamley of Belcourt, twin brother Shawn Hamley of Moorhead, MN, and Eric Hamley of Minneapolis, MN; and nephew, Wes Hamley of Belcourt.

Marcus was preceded in death by his brother, Evan Hamley, grandparents, Clarence Jesse and Elizabeth Hamley and Edward Sr. and Mae Johnson, aunt, Sandra Johnson, and uncle, Brian Johnson.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Father David Snow presiding. Burial will follow funeral services in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
