Luke Laducer, age 41, of Fargo, formerly of Belcourt, ND passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 in Fargo, ND.

Luke is survived by his four children, Brooklyn Laducer, London Laducer, Reece Laducer, and Phoenix Laducer, all of Moorhead, MN; mother, Betty Ann Laducer of Fargo, father, Melvin Laducer of Belcourt, sisters, Diana DeCoteau, Janice (Duane) Poitra, Jackie Laducer, all of Belcourt, and Paulette (Ken) Scheller of Evansville, IN, and brothers, Melvin John (Tammy) Laducer Jr. of Belcourt, Spencer (Rolanda) Laducer of Belcourt, Mark (Jana) Laducer of Bismarck, and Darrell (Darry) Davis of Rapid City, SD.

Luke was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Anna Laducer, maternal grandmother, Eva Herman, brother in law, Davy Decoteau, and step-mother, Monica Laducer.

Luke was born to Melvin and Betty Laducer in Belcourt, North Dakota. Luke grew up in Belcourt, ND and later moved to St. Cloud, MN and then to Fargo, ND where he resided until the time of his death. Luke attended Turtle Mountain Community Schools and graduated from Turtle Mountain High School in 1998.

Luke joined the United States Army in September of 2001 and served for four years. He was a Specialist in the US Army and specialized in Para trooping. Luke's Army career took him to Korea where he served for several years. He was honorably discharged in 2015. Luke then came home to Belcourt where he married Jennifer Trottier. Together they had 4 children. They later divorced. He was employed at Turtle Mountain High School where he greeted all the students with, "Good morning my girl or good morning my man." He loved the kids dearly along with all of his co-workers and they loved him back immensely.

Luke was a man of many things and enjoyed doing all sorts of fun activities whenever he got the chance, including his love for being outdoors playing games or simply enjoying the weather. He especially loved summer time as a kid. During the summer Luke would be outside from sun up to sun down alongside his older brother Mark and older nephew Dave Jr. Mark, Dave and Luke had a special bond as kids, always doing things together every day of the week. Whether it was riding bike, fishing, shooting BB guns, going to the swimming pool, playing Nintendo, playing foosball or playing basketball, football and baseball, the boys were always having fun with each other. Mark, Dave and Luke were the founders and creators of the iconic wiffle ball field at Laducerville. The boys would have friends and relatives over every day in the summer months for big games and that tradition even carried on to their adult lives as Luke would keep games alive with his younger nephews Jacy and Jordan and their friends.

Luke also loved his camping and fishing trips with his dad, Melvin. The boys would load up in the truck, pull the boat, and head to their favorite destinations, like Lake of the Woods, Lake of the Prairie, Devils Lake and/or Lake Sakakawea. Those were times when life was simple and Luke always made the best of every moment. He loved those times and cherished those moments like no other.

In his high school years Luke was always the life of the party. His big personality, infectious smile, and crazy laugh always stood out wherever he was at. Luke had hundreds of friends, whom he loved very much – and they all loved him, too. He was known by many as "Lukie Pie" or "Uncle Luke" but he'll forever be remembered as a great friend and a guy who always had the back of those he called a "friend." He always held a special place in his heart for his classmates (TMCHS 1998), and had an extreme love and close relationships with his best friends, Jacob, Sheldon, Waylon, Baby Howard, Bradley (cousin), T.J. (Jug Head) and Ed. Just know that Luke loved you guys unconditionally and would have done anything for you guys in a drop of a hat.

Military Honors provided by the Lilley-Dionne American Legion Post #262 of Belcourt and the Military Funeral Honor Guard of Grand Forks, ND.  Casket Bearers are Dave DeCoteau Jr., Jacy DeCoteau, Jordan Poitra, Weston Poitra, Jonathan Laducer, Sheldon Thomas, Howard Frederick Jr., and Jacob Laducer.  Honorary Bearers are Reece Laducer, London Laducer, Halen DeCoteau, Tanner Michael DeCoteau, and all nieces and nephews.  Rosary Service led by Paulette Scheller and Mark Laducer.  Readers are Paulette Scheller and Monte Poitra.  Music by Leonard Keplin.  Eulogy by Jordan Poitra.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral Mass.  Father Dave Brokke presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
