Louis LaFrombois Sr., age 67, of Belcourt, ND passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 22, 2024 at his home.

Louis LaFrombois Sr. was born on September 29, 1956 in Rolette, ND to Romeo Louis LaFrombois Sr. and Gladys (Morin) LaFrombois.  He was raised in the Belcourt/Dunseith area and graduated from Dunseith High School.  Louis furthered his education at Lake Region State College for carpentry. Louis became a proud father of a daughter, Nichole before marrying Elizabeth Grant, adding two sons to his family, Edward and Louis Jr.  They later divorced.  He later married Ellen Slater and she preceded him in death.  Louis worked various jobs throughout the years, Turtle Mountain Manufacturing working the metal press, Rolette Housing Authority in head maintenance, a local substitute teacher at local schools, and road construction.  He was jack of all trades, able to fix or work with almost anything. Louis could also grow nearly anything, the green thumb of the family.  He enjoyed working on cars and was fairly gifted in carpentry, which brought him joy.  His most recent project was making dog houses.  He also liked reading, listening to music, and having lunch at his favorite place in Rolette, ND. Louis will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Louis Sr. is survived by his children, Nichole (Brock) Mosolf of Jamestown, Edward (Amy Wanna) LaFrombois of Belcourt, and Louis Jr. (Tusheila) LaFrombois of Trenton; nine grandchildren, Kyle Mosolf, Bryan Mosolf, Bryson LaFombois, Kail LaFrombois, Abby LaFrombois, Jaida LaFrombois, Kinsley LaFrombois, Lexi LaFrombois, and Morgan LaFrombois; sister, Carol (Mike) Blevens of Pembina; brother, Bill LaFrombois of Devils Lake; sister-in-law, Patti Bruce of Grand Forks; and many nieces and nephews.

Louis Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Romeo and Gladys LaFrombois, wife, Ellen LaFrombois, and siblings, Romeo Louis "Snake" LaFrombois Jr., Eugene LaFrombois, Raymond (Melissa) LaFrombois, George (Gail) LaFrombois, and Delia "Tootsie" LaFrombois.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.  Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
