Lloyd A Jay Jr., age 80, of Rolla, ND passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.
Lloyd A Jay Jr. was born on January 19, 1942, at home in St. John, ND to Lloyd A Jay Sr. and Edith (Royland) Jay. He was raised in St. John and completed his education there as well. Lloyd enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He was the proud father of three children, Sherry, Richard, and Audrey. Lloyd worked in Great Falls, MT for the Anaconda Company, a smelting plant, for many years before moving home to Rolla, raising cows and helping local farmers. He enjoyed being outdoors, walking his property where he grew up. Lloyd also liked playing cards, especially cribbage and pinochle. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and many friends.
Lloyd A Jay Jr. is survived by his children, Sherry Jay (fiancé Ken Girodot) of Langdon, Richard (Wendy) Jay of St. John, and Audrey (Chris) Rinas of Bismarck; six grandchildren, Jamie Jay, Kayla Jay, Heather Vondal, Crystal Vondal, Charlie Vondal Jr., and Chelbie Bohl; four great grandchildren, Ava Jay, Mason Bohl, Grant Bohl, and Logan Bohl; a great grandson on the way; siblings, Mary Allery of Rolette, Norman (Marlene) Jay of St. John, Sandra (Ben) Nadeau of Belcourt, and Kristina Jay of Dunseith; and many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd A Jay Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd A Jay Sr. and Edith Jay, and sisters, Clara Nadeau, Arlene Bercier, and Lorraine Desjarlais.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Noon at the Turtle Mountain Baptist Church, Rolla, ND with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM prior to services. Burial will follow at Mill Lake Cemetery, St. John, ND. Pastor Frank Sheridan officiating.
