Lloyd Hovland, age 83, of Perth, ND passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Essentia Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Lloyd Edwin Hovland was born on March 5, 1937 in Rugby, ND to Martin and Amanda (Haugen) Hovland.  He was raised on a farm near Perth and attended Oxford School, a rural school near the farm.  Lloyd was united in marriage to Sharon (Solberg) Kurtti on April 25, 2004 at Bisbee Lutheran Church.  He farmed and lived on the family farm near Perth his entire life and was active in the Farmer's Union, Crop Improvement Association, and the National Farmers Organization, serving as state treasurer.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Perth, ND until the church's closing.  He became an active member of Bisbee Lutheran Church and was strong in his faith.

Lloyd was a generous man, always willing to help anyone in need at any time.  He was very good with his hands, fixing, and his love for farming was evident in his daily work.  Lloyd enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and all animals that came his way.  He loved time spent with is family members, especially his grandchildren.  He enjoyed traveling with Sharon and together they cherished their annual trips to Branson and many other places around the United States.  Lloyd will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his family members and many friends.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Hovland of Perth; step-children, Carlyss Kurtti of Manvel, Brent (Lori) Kurtti of Agate, and Candace (Andrew) DeCock of Killarney, MB; nine grandchildren, Chandler Neufeld, Hope Neufeld, Gracie Neufeld, Owen Kurtti, Evan Kurtti, Brian Kurtti, Oscar DeCock, Oakley DeCock, and Dakotah DeCock; three sisters, Gladys Pennington, Alice (Ted) Reiton, and Elva Martins; nieces, Nancy Gasmann, Rae Meyers, and Cheryl Chandler; nephews, James Pennington and Shawn Meyers; and aunt, Irene Hager.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Amanda (Haugen) Hovland, brother-in-law, Carl Martins, and brother-in-law, Ray Pennington.

Honorary Casket Bearers are All of Lloyd's Grandchildren, Chandler Neufeld, Hope Neufeld, Gracie Neufeld, Owen Kurtti, Evan Kurtti, Brian Kurtti, Oscar DeCock, Oakley DeCock, and Dakotah DeCock.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND.  A private family graveside service will be held at Bisbee Lutheran Cemetery, Bisbee, ND.  Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating.
