Linda Vallie, age 60, of Valley City, ND formerly of Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023 at St. Raphael Hospital, Valley City, ND.

Linda Kay Vallie was born on July 3, 1962, the youngest of 13 children, to Norman and Alice (Belgarde) Demery. She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well. She was united in marriage to Oliver Vallie, he preceded her in death. Linda worked in law enforcement and as a cook in Belcourt for many years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and often had family and friends over to her home. Linda also liked going to the casino and playing bingo. She cared deeply for her family and was also a wonderful caregiver to her husband for many years. Linda will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Linda is survived by her sisters, Theresa LaFontaine of Belcourt and Ernestine LaFontaine of Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Alice Demery, husband, Oliver Vallie, and her siblings, Sarah Bernie, Charles Demery, Bill Demery, Irene DeCoteau, Floyd Demery, Dorothy Desjarlais, Melvin Demery, Fred Demery, Larry Demery, and Beatrice Demery.

Casket Bearers are Dustin Desjarlais, Lynn C. DeCoteau, Lucion LaFontaine Jr., Donovan Houle, Tyler Scott, and Rocky Short. Honorary Bearers are Norman LaFontaine Sr. and Tritan RedHair. Eucharistic gifts by Rachel LaFontaine and Kimberly DeCoteau. Reader is Monica Nadeau. Music by Craig Lunday.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow services at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith, ND.
