Obituary

Linda Brunelle, age 68, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Linda Ann Elizabeth Brunelle was born on November 9, 1953 in Belcourt, ND to Julius and Laura (Gladue) Poitra.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education at Belcourt Schools, graduating in 1971.  Linda was united in marriage to Alan James Brunelle on November 9, 1976 in Rolla.  Together they raised four children, Tony, Danielle, Del, and Julie.  Linda worked at IHS Hospital in Belcourt for many years in housekeeping, retiring in 2019.  She enjoyed playing KEYA bingo, rummaging with her sisters, cooking, and sewing.  Linda loved the time she spent with her family members, especially her grandchildren.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Linda is survived by her children, Tony (Shawn) Brunelle of Warroad, MN, Danielle Brunelle of Rock Lake, Del (Brooknee Boyer) Brunelle of Belcourt, and Julie (Bruno Nadeau) Brunelle of Belcourt; eleven grandchildren, Brittany, Devin, Gretta, Emma, Kamarra, Kayla, Kara, Kyra, Kingston, Delainee, and Aleah; seven great grandchildren, Armani, Amauri, Zane, Tahlyn, Panthera, Aero, and Kian; siblings, Judy Fedde of Fremont, CA, Lewis (Joyce) Poitra of Rolette, Les (Melinda) Poitra of Warm Springs, OR, Leslie Poitra of Belcourt, Jeanne Charbonneau of Rolette, Janice Poitra of Belcourt, and June Poitra of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Laura Poitra, husband, Alan Brunelle, and brother, Joseph E. Poitra.

Urn Bearers are Bruno Nadeau, Darren Demery, Devin Brunelle, Toby Laverdure, Brian Poitra, Kelly Brunelle, Randy Brunelle, Chris Laverdure, Brian Brunelle, and Collin Brunelle.  Honorary Urn Bearers are all family and friends. Readers for funeral mass are Janeesha Parisien and Kayla Azure.  Music by Leonard Keplin.  Rosary by Denise Keplin and Rosann Trottier.  Eucharistic Gifts by Shawn Brunelle and Tony Brunelle.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service/Eulogy at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow services in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.  Father Tony Hession presiding.
