Linda DeLong, age 74, of Belcourt, ND passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

On May 16th, 1949, in Belcourt, ND, a remarkable soul graced this world with her presence. Linda (Poitra) Delong, born to Phillip and Alice (Azure) Poitra, brought warmth and love to everyone she met. She was a true North Dakotan, raised in Williston before making her home in Belcourt, where she lovingly raised her family.

Linda's legacy lives on through the wonderful people she leaves behind. She is survived by her beloved children, Leo Lenoir of California, Philip (Nicole) of Belcourt, ND, Amy Delong of Belcourt, ND, and Kristie (Myron) Delong of Belcourt ND. Linda adored her grandchildren, including Philip (PJ), Darah & Jayden Lenoir, Ashley, Alishia Kom & Aleigha Lenoir, Myron Jr, Alisa and Mason Desjarlais. But that's not all; she was also the proud great-grandmother of 11 precious souls. Siblings, Sharon and Bernard Ree of Anchorage AK, Richard Poitra of Eden Prairie, MN, Kim Holzer of Timberlake SD, Ellen and Daniel Peterson of Champlin, MN, Bonita Poitra of Belcourt, ND.  She was lovingly known as "Grandma Linda" to many. Preceded in death by husband, Freddy, son Jason, and siblings, Margret, George, Sonny, Pierre, and Raymond.

Linda had a heart as big as the North Dakota sky and her passions in life were as wide as her smile. Bingo was her game of choice, a way to connect with her cherished family and friends. She also found solace in the pages of a good book, with gardening and canning as her green-thumbed pursuits. Her love for her family was evident in her kitchen, where she whipped up delicious meals that brought everyone together.

Linda's greatest joy came from spending time with her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she spoiled with love and laughter. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she had a knack for brightening any room with her cheerful banter.

Keeping busy was Linda's mantra, and it was evident in her selfless dedication to the Catholic Daughters of St. Ann's Catholic Church after her retirement. She continued to give with her generous heart, touching the lives of many.

Linda (Poitra) Delong was a woman whose love knew no bounds, and she made sure those around her felt that love every day. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and the enduring memory of a heart full of love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

So let us remember Linda with a smile, just as she would have wanted, and may her joyous spirit continue to brighten our lives, even as we bid her a fond farewell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Father David Snow presiding.
