Linda Azure, age 66, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.
Linda Faye (LeBeau) Azure was born on November 20, 1955 in South Dakota to Frank LeBeau and Dorene (Davis) Baker. She was raised in Belcourt by her mother and step-father, Morris Baker, and completed her education there, as well as in Wahpeton, ND. Linda furthered her education, attending the police academy in Sioux City, Iowa, and obtained a criminal justice degree. She was united in marriage to James D. Azure in 1972 and together they had four children, Gwendolyn, Travis, Jamie, and Tara. They later divorced. Linda worked for the Sky Dancer Casino in Belcourt as a security guard for over 20 years. She was gifted at beading and making Native American regalia and also loved attending Pow-Wows. Linda enjoyed riding horse in her younger years and made beautiful star quilts and afghans throughout the years. She liked going to the casino, playing bingo, computer games, and longed to grow a beautiful garden, which she tried on occasion. Linda made delicious bread and was a wonderful cook. She loved to visit with her family members and friends, often playing a game of cards when time permitted. Linda was also a gifted singer and guitar player. She enjoyed old country music and getting together with other family members and friends who also played guitar and sang. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and teaching them about their Native American culture and also about the Catholic Church. Linda also loved to read and had a fascination with Native American history and culture. She liked to do research in her spare time and would share her stories about her research with others. Linda will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her family members and many friends.
Linda is survived by her children, Travis James Azure of Oakland, CA, Jamie Lynn Azure of Belcourt, and Tara (Eric Davis) Azure of Belcourt; six grandchildren, Annalyce Azure, Soleil Azure, Amara Belgarde, Elijah Azure, Canaan Azure, and Sylas Davis; siblings, Keith LeBeau of Wahpeton, Mark Sommers of MN, and Mark LeBeau of CA; nieces, nephews, step-siblings and many cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Frank LeBeau, mother, Dorene Baker, step-father, Morris Baker, daughter, Gwendolyn Lea Azure, and sister Lisa (LeBeau) Nitschke.
Casket Bearers are Keith LeBeau, Kevin "Scotty" Vandal, Vincent Vandal, Luke Baker, Elmer Davis Jr, Rod Davis, Eric Davis, and Mike Davis. Honorary Bearers are Travis James Azure, Soleil Azure, Elijah Azure, Canaan Azure, Sylas Davis, and Eric LeBeau. Music by Lambert Azure. Traditional music and drums by Brad Defender. Readers are Melanie Madrid and Carleen Jeanotte-Murphy. Eucharistic Gifts are brought by Annalyce Azure and Amara Belgarde. Rosary by Arlene Jeanotte and Kateri Azure.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND. Burial will be in the St. Anthony's church cemetery in the spring.
