LeRoy Jeannotte, age 83, of Minot, ND passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at his home.
LeRoy Arthur Jeannotte was born on July 26, 1942 in St. John, ND to Wilfred and Josephine (Daigneault) Jeannotte. He was raised in St. John and completed his education there. He furthered his education at college in Devils Lake for one year. LeRoy enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 and received an honorable discharge in 1963. LeRoy joined the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Belcourt, ND in 1968. He had a very rewarding career at the BIA and retired in 1995, in Fort Duchesne, Utah as a police captain. In retirement he was employed by the International Grand Hotel in Minot, ND. He was united in marriage to Janet Gourneau and together they had two children, LeRoy Jr. and Leah. LeRoy enjoyed working on model airplanes, watching Nascar and basketball. He especially enjoyed music by Buddy Holly. He had a large memorabilia collection of the 70's and 80's music. He loved the outdoors, gardening, planting flowers, and cooking outdoors. He liked holidays spent with his family and friends. He was always proud of his children and their accomplishments. LeRoy will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
LeRoy is survived by children, Leah (Bobby) Brien, LeRoy Jeannotte Jr.; grandkids, Sheena (Krista) Twohearts, Nakiia, Keelai, Kylen, Warren, Raiden, and Zia; brothers and sister, Joseph (Marlene) Jeannotte, Benny (Arlene) Jeannotte, Kevy (Pat) Jeannotte, Madonna Yokley, and Daryl Jeannotte; aunt, Shirley Langan; and many nieces, nephews, and relatives.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Josephine Jeannotte, wife, Janet Jeannotte, grandson, Charlie LaVallie, siblings, Duane "Pickles" Jeannotte, Keith Jeannotte, and Clayton Jeannotte, uncles, Kenny Langan, Art Daigneault, Joseph Daigneault, and George Daigneault, and sister-in-law, Carol Jeannotte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow funeral services at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John, ND. Father Richard Fineo presiding. Military Honors by the Lilley-Dionne American Legion Post #262 of Belcourt, ND.
