Leonard Gustafson, age 69, of St. John, ND passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026 at his home.

Leonard Dallas Gustafson was born on April 16, 1957 in Rolla, ND to LeRoy "Popeye" and Eleanor (Roy) Gustafson.  He was raised in Rolla and completed his education at Rolla High School. He enlisted in the military and received an honorable discharge in 1979.  Leonard was united in marriage to Lynn Hansen on August 19, 1995 in St. John. Together they raised three daughters, Mandy, Eve, and Emily.  Leonard owned and operated Westside C Store in Rolla for many years where he devoted a lifetime of service to his community.  He enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting, and especially riding horses.  He also enjoyed riding motorcycle, his snowmobiles, and watching westerns. Leonard was a member of the Turtle Mountain Motorcycle Club where he aided in search and rescue missions.  He loved time spent with his family members and was extremely proud of his girls.  Leonard will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Lynn Gustafson of St. John; daughters, Mandy (Thomas) McAlpine of Elk River, MN, Eve (Cody) Booen of Arvilla, and Emily Gustafson of Fargo; grandchildren, Alexa, Brooklyn, Lily, and Kenzi; siblings, Fred (Rhonda) Gustafson of St. John, Cynthia (Darrell) Thibert of Fargo, Suzanne Gustafson of Harlingen, TX, Laurie (Lyle) Davis of Burlington, and Michelle (Ray) Trottier of Rolla; and many nieces and nephews.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy "Popeye" and Eleanor Gustafson and sister, Angelique Blake.

Casket Bearers are Frank Richard, Heath Gourneau, Nathan Gustafson, Thomas McAlpine, Cody Booen, Jim Ward, and Easton Andel. Music by Kevin Jeanotte and Bennett Jeanotte.  Reader is Michelle Trottier. Eucharistic Gifts by Fred and Rhonda Gustafson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and a Rosary Service at 9:30 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow funeral services at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John, ND. Father Richard Fineo presiding.
