Leona Yoder, age 70, of Belcourt, North Dakota, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at her home in Belcourt, ND. Leona will be picking flowers in December.

Leona Edith (Slaubaugh) Yoder was born on August 24, 1952, in Rugby, ND to Albert and Edith (Brown) Slaubaugh. She attended Wolford High School and graduated in 1970. She was united in marriage to Nile Yoder on November 29, 1974. Together they had three children, Nathan, Christy, and Joshua. Leona served the Lord in ministry. She was a gifted seamstress and a wonderful homemaker for her family.  Leona liked sewing, working on puzzles, and playing scrabble.  She enjoyed the outdoors working in her garden and flower gardens, playing softball, fishing and took back up riding horses at the age of 65. Her family was her life and she cherished spending time with them. Leona will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Leona is survived by her husband, Nile Yoder of Belcourt; children, Christy (Troy) Achterhof of Newcastle, WY and Joshua (Jewel) Yoder of Belcourt; grandchildren, Jonathan, Brook, Zechariah, Rebekah, Lily, Keziah; daughter in-law, Elizabeth Yoder of Belcourt; siblings, Lois (Gary) Jenson, Lola (Warren) Slagell, Maynard (Joyce) Slaubaugh, Lily Gingerich, Lila (Robert) Fisher, Floyd (Barb) Slaubaugh, and Bert (Sarah) Slaubaugh; brother-sister in-laws, Jock Yoder, Heidi (Hugh) Yoder; Shane (Sue) Yoder; sister-in-law's, Vicki, Maryln, and Lynette; and 44 nieces and nephews.

Leona is preceded in death by parents, Albert and Edith Slaubaugh; son, Nathan Yoder; grandson, Caleb Yoder; brothers, Donald, Edward, Richard, Howard; brother-in-law, Raymond; and sister-in-law, Karen.

Casket Bearers are Joshua Yoder, Jonathan Yoder, Brook Achterhof, Zechariah Yoder, Troy Achterhof, and Shane Yoder.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Lakeview Mennonite Church, Wolford, ND, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to services in the church. Dorvan Yoder officiating.  Burial will be in Island Lake Cemetery, Rolette, ND in the spring.
