Leo Nadeau, age 86, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home.

Leo Clarence Nadeau was born on May 15, 1934 in Belcourt, ND to Ambrose and Flora (Vivier) Nadeau.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his elementary education there as well.  Leo enlisted in the United States Army in 1957 and received an honorable discharge in 1959.  He was united in marriage to Ida LaVallie on November 20, 1956 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt.  Together they had five children, Dave, Linda, Gerald, Lonnie, Leo Ronnie, and Sharon.  Leo loved time spent with his family members.  He enjoyed work as a mechanic.  Leo worked for 17 years at San Haven in Dunseith until its closure and also as a carpenter.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Leo is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ida Nadeau; children, Dave, Linda (Steve) Haugen, Gerald, Lonnie, and Leo Ronnie; grandson, Chris Nadeau; sister, Rose Poitra; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Flora Nadeau, daughter, Sharon Theresa, and siblings, Elmer, Louie, Francis, Agnes, Mary, and Jeanette.

A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 10 AM in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 9:30 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
