Larry LaVallie, age 66, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Belcourt, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his home.

Larry James LaVallie was born on January 25, 1955 in Belcourt, ND to Emil and Evelyn (Short) LaVallie.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education at Belcourt Schools.  Larry furthered his education at the University of North Dakota obtaining a Master's Degree in Education.  He was united in marriage to Audrey Navarre on October 11, 1996 in Bottineau, ND.  Larry worked as a teacher in elementary education at Ojibwa Indian School in Belcourt and then Dunseith Day School in Dunseith before retiring.  He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and mowing his lawn, traveling, and trying out new foods.  Larry had a wonderful sense of humor which was enjoyed by all.  He liked traveling to new places and trying out new things.  Larry loved his family dearly and was especially proud of his grandchildren.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his wife, Audrey of Grand Forks; children, Terry (Destiney) LaVallie Sr., Alena LaVallie, Mandy Davis, Laraya LaVallie, all of Belcourt, and Nicole LaVallie of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Terry "JR" LaVallie, Dawson Zerr, Avery Davis, Delana Martin, Dilyan Brien, Kruze LaFountain, Dylan Champagne, Kruze Martell, Devon Davis, Demi LaVallie, and Klahni LaVallie; great grandchild, Daxon Zerr; and siblings, Elizabeth (Dave) Bruce, Yvonne Smith, Emil LaVallie Jr., Alan LaVallie, Clayton LaVallie, and Verlin (Pamela) LaVallie, all of Belcourt.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Evelyn LaVallie, sister, Linda Wallette, brother, Albert LaVallie, and step-daughter, Deanna Katopol.

Urn Bearers are all of his grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 21, 2021 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
