Obituary

Larry Keplin, age 72, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.


Larry E. Keplin was born on June 15, 1947 in Belcourt, ND to Louis and Katherine (Delorme) Keplin. He attended Fort Totten grade school and graduated from Belcourt High School. He was united in marriage to Marlene Georgeson, but they later divorced. Larry was the proud father of five children: Don Lee, Devin, Dustin, Dory, and Desiree. He traveled the Pow Wow circuit and cleaned buildings with David, his partner of 32 years, in Bloomington, MN. Larry was a restaurant manager at Golden Valley Country Club and Sky Dancer Casino, as he was a wonderful chef and enjoyed cooking, especially for family and friends. He also worked for United Mailing as a clerk. Larry loved being around his family and highly valued family gatherings. He enjoyed playing cards, sometimes for hours, along with fishing and camping. He was a very generous man and often went out of his way to help others. Larry will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and many friends.


Larry is survived by his partner, David Guderjahn; children, Don Lee Keplin of Fargo, Devin Keplin of Fargo, Dustin Keplin of Fargo, Doree Lynn Keplin of Devils Lake, and Desiree Keplin of Fargo; many beautiful grandchildren; a great grandchild; and brothers, Clifford (Janice) Keplin, Melvin (Susan) Keplin, Don (Verna) Kepin, and Steve (Paula) Keplin, all of Belcourt.


Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Katherine Keplin, brother, Dallas Keplin, and granddaughter, Mackenzie.


Eulogy given by Mike Keplin. Eucharistic gifts by Gabby, Alissa, and Chloe. Readings by Phyllis Jollie and Anita Blue. Rosary led by Gary and Sandy Thomas. Eucharistic Minister is Wayne Keplin. Honorary Bearers are all family and friends. Altar Server is Parker Wallette.


A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the church, Rosary Service and Eulogy at 9:00 AM. Father Tony Hession, SOLT presiding. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
