Kyle Elmer Wade Monette, age 27, of Belcourt, ND started his journey to the spirit world on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

Kyle Monette was born to Lori Monette and Kyle (Hollie) LeBeau on April 15, 1996, in Belcourt, ND. He quickly became known as "Baby Kyle" to his family. He grew up in Belcourt, attending school at Turtle Mountain Community Schools through high school. After graduation, he went on to attend Turtle Mountain Community College, obtaining his A.A. and A.S. degrees.

Kyle was a proud big Brother to Gannyn, Ayin, Dylan, Kallen, and Keelie. He especially loved spending time with Gannyn and Ayin but loved all his brothers and sister more than anything. He referred to Gannyn and Ayin as his "tiny babies" and spent time with them as often as he could. He enjoyed playing catch with the football, making forts, playing in the snow, and roasting marshmallows around a fire with them. Kyle was always trying to find ways to show them how much he loved them by creating happy memories with them. Kyle thought his brother Dylan was his mini-me and Kallen was his twin. He loved his only Sister Keelie but knew he would never have to worry about her because she was surrounded by so many brothers.

Kyle loved his parents dearly, but he held a special place in his heart for his Grandma Blue Eyes and Auntie Lisa. He considered them to be his other moms since the day he was born. Blue Eyes and Lisa both helped raise Kyle and he had a special bond with both of them. Kyle was everyone's baby and definitely stole the hearts of his entire family. He was often considered spoiled by his family, yet everyone always babied him and gave him what he wanted.

Kyle loved spending time with his Grandma Lou Ann as much as he could and loved eating her good food. He spent time talking about history with his Uncle J.R. (Gregory) and telling him the best historical places to visit while he traveled. When he was younger, he spent a lot of time with his Uncles Shane and Jacob, playing jokes on people. Throughout the years, he loved to visit his Dad and Stepmom Hollie. He would purposely get on his Dad's nerves and later laugh about it. He knew he and his Dad had the same personalities, so he always knew how to push his buttons.

Kyle was a huge sports fan. He loved the Vikings and Lakers and was a big fan of Kobe Bryant. He would often watch sports with his Uncles G.T., Eugene and Shonn. Kyle knew all of his uncle's loved sports, too, and that was his way of spending time with them. Kyle also shared his love of sports with his brothers and cousins. He was an athlete in his younger years and often played a friendly game of basketball or football.

Kyle had a big heart and loved helping people. He would often give rides to people and spent time picking up Elders that were walking. He had a special gift for showing people how much he loved them and was always there for anyone who was feeling down. Kyle knew that he needed to share all the love he was given by giving that love to others.

Kyle loved being outside with nature. He loved listening to the birds early in the morning and watching the stars late at night. He enjoyed floating on his back while swimming so he could watch the clouds. He often found himself sitting by a tree listening to the leaves rustle in the breeze. He found the best spots to pick berries and would share them with his family.

Kyle was becoming very spiritual in the last few years of his life. He began learning about his Lakota traditions and teaching himself how to speak his Lakota language. Learning about his Lakota ways would always remind him of his Uncle Hoke, hoping his Uncle Hoke would someday teach him more. He also enjoyed picking sage and his Grandma Blue Eyes was teaching him how to care for it and use it. Kyle loved dogs and was always taking his dog J.J. on adventures with him.

Kyle is survived by his Mom Lori; his Dad Kyle and Stepmom Hollie; his Brothers Gannyn, Ayin, Dylan, Kallen, and Sister Keelie; his Grandma Blue Eyes Monette and Grandma Lou Ann Davis; his Papa Carty (Loretta DeLong) Monette and Grandpa Greg LeBeau; Great Grandma Carol Delorme; his Aunts Lisa (Shonn LaFloe) Monette, Amy Monette, Robin LeBeau, Kay (Owen) Garrouex; Uncles Eugene (Sherry) Monette, G.T. Monette, Gregory Seth LeBeau, Shane Davis, Jacob (Jennifer) Davis, Hoksila White Mountain, Rocklyn (Vanessa) LeBeau, Brandon (Jen) LeBeau, and Michael (Kayna) LeBeau; his Godmother Shauna Laducer, and many cousins, great aunts and uncles, and friends.

Kyle was welcomed into the spirit world by his Great Grandparents Eugene "Buffalo" Laducer, Helen (Peltier) Parisien, Fritz and Annie (Davis) Monette, Florence Azure-Davis, Elmer Davis, Sr., several Aunts and Uncles, and his best friend C.J. Hawk.

Please say special prayers for Kyle's Brothers Gannyn, Ayin, Dillon, Kallen, his Sister Keelie, his Cousin's Cody and Sheyanne LaVallie, Winter, Sadie, and Koda Monette, Sander, Sawyer, Emma, and Ellie LaFloe, Tanner and Annie Monette will all miss their cousin Kyle more than words can express. They will hold Baby Kyle in their hearts forever.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
