Krassimira Utecht, age 32, of Fargo, ND and Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Krassimira Joy Utecht, Shooting Star, was born on January 26 ^th 1989 in Stara Zagora, in the Republic of Bulgaria. Her parents, unable to care for her, placed her in an orphanage where she lived until shortly after her 8 ^th birthday. Krassimira was adopted into the Utecht family and came home to live in the United States. Kassi's Bulgarian name, Krassimira, means beautiful cross. Soon after joining the family in America, it was apparent that Kassi had a mind of her own and a very strong independent streak. Having lived in an orphanage for most the of her life she had learned how to survive and was a fighter. Her courage was unmistakable as she faced having to learn a new language and fit into an entirely new culture and family that she had never known. At a very early age Kassi was exposed to a wide variety of what her new country had to offer. First living in Pennsylvania then traveling to Oregon and finally settling down in North Dakota she experienced America the Beautiful and even shook hands with President Bush. One of the most impactful events in her life was her visit to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC where she processed what the darkness of the world looks like. She had a natural kindness for children and the elderly. As a volunteer at a nursing home in Fargo, she was recognized for her ability to care for the most fragile among us and was presented with the Dove award.  During her Junior and Senior years of High School, Kassi's family moved to Northern Japan where she had an opportunity to experience yet another culture and language. She learned how to snow board on the slopes of the Northern Japanese Mountains and even learned how to eat Sushi. Upon graduation from Edgren High School on Misawa Air Base in Japan, Kassi returned to North Dakota and entered the Job Corp program where she met Chuck Delorme.

Kassi was the proud mother of two children, Conrad and Kate.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends.

Kassi is survived by her children, Conrad and Kate Delorme; her parents, Jan and Rick Utecht of Bentonville, AR; her bothers, Jeremiah and his wife Rachel Utecht of Fargo, Richard and his wife Susi, sons Ricky and David and daughter Amelia Utecht also of Bentonville, AR; as well as nephews, a niece, aunts and uncles.

Casket Bearers are Joe Ree, Dallas Morin, Lucas LaFountaine, Clayton Williams, Dallas Chase, and Sunny Laducer.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.  Readers are Kathleen Desjarlais and Joni Tillich.  Pall placed by Charles Delorme, Conrad Delorme, Kate Delorme, Abigail Desjarlais, Alexander Desjarlais, and Andrew Desjarlais.  Eucharistic Gifts by Abigail, Alexander, and Andrew Desjarlais.

A Private Family Service is being held with a burial to follow.
