Kenneth LaRocque, age 64, of St. John, ND passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Kenneth Ervin LaRocque was born on August 10, 1958 in Rolla, ND to Henry and JoAnn (Bercier) LaRocque.  He was raised in St. John and completed his education there as well.  Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army in 1977 and received an honorable discharge in 1998 following his reserves service. He then furthered his training to become a police officer working in law enforcement for 18 years before retiring.  Kenneth was united in marriage to Laurie LaFromboise on February 14, 1981 and together they raised four children, Genista, Jennifer, Kenneth Jr., and Tasha.  Laurie preceded him in death in 2021.  Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, as well as collecting guns and reloading.  He loved time spent with his family members, especially his grandchildren.  Working in law enforcement brought him joy along with tinkering and keeping tabs on his siblings.  Kenneth will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Genista (Jesse) Hill of Elkton, Virginia, Jennifer (Tad) Counts of Trenton, Kenneth Jr. (Suzi) LaRocque of Grand Forks, and Tasha (Bradley) Courtney of St. Amant, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren, Seth, Peyton, Jes, Aurora, Kaleb, Logan, Aiden, Shalome, Chantelle, Lauren, and Serenity; two great granddaughters, Niyah and Novah; siblings, Henry (Patricia) LaRocque, Donald (Judy) LaRocque, Victoria Bercier, MaryLee (Aaron) Vondal, Jackie Blessum, all of St. John, and William LaRocque of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and JoAnn LaRocque, wife, Laurie LaRocque, and sister, Bobbie Jo Murphy.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:30 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow funeral services.
