Kenneth Azure, age 61, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at his home.

Kenneth Shawn "Laquen" Azure was born on May 15, 1963 in Belcourt, ND to James and Vita (Poitra) Azure.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well, graduating in 1981.  Kenneth furthered his education at Bottineau Community College.  He was united in marriage to Anna Giron on February 14, 1996 in Rolla, ND.  He was the proud father of four children, Kyle, Amber, EJ, and Shawn.  Kenneth was self-employed and worked as a carpenter and in construction.  He enjoyed watching football and basketball, an avid Vikings and Celtics fan.  Kenneth liked the outdoors playing horseshoes, softball, and golf.  He enjoyed listening to music and was a Waylon Jennings fan. He had many, many friends and family members that he loved spending time with, especially his children and grandchildren.  Kenneth liked reaching out to family and friends on the phone, always checking in, even if it was at an inconvenient time. His family always knew how much they were loved.  Kenneth will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Kyle Parisien of Bemidji, MN, Amber (Jay) Giron-Marion of Dunseith, EJ (Kayana Trottier) Azure of Belcourt, and Shawn (Raven) Azure of Belcourt; seven grandchildren, Kobe Parisien, Allisyn Giron, Kruze Martell, Tyus Azure, Talen Azure, Taytum Azure, and Torrhen Azure; siblings, Jackie (Ramsey) Delorme of Dunseith, Mark (Shelly) Azure of Dunseith, Bobbie (Petey) Azure of St. John, Stacy (Jessica) Azure of Dunseith, and Jamie Azure of Dunseith; and nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vita Azure, and grandparents, Moses and Mary Azure and Mike and Josephine "Lasedo" Poitra.

Casket Bearers are Adam Azure, Jesse Azure, Shane Azure, Josh Nadeau, Manny Giron, Jay Marion, and Seth Azure. Honorary Bearers are Eddie Giron, Alan Bercier, George Champagne, Linus Poitra, and all family and friends. Music by Terry Baker and Betty Hamley. Readers are Shelly Azure and Eleanor Morin.  Eucharistic Gifts by Chelsea Counts, Bailee Azure, and Tayla Azure.

A visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND. Father Tony Hession, SOLT presiding.
