Kathleen Azure, age 80, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Belcourt Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Kathleen Mary Azure was born on January 31, 1940 in Belcourt, ND to Frank and Virginia (Delorme) St. Claire. She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education at St. Joseph's Boarding School in Marty, SD. Kathleen was united in marriage to Patrick Azure on February 6, 1961 at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Together they raised six sons, Chris, David, Patrick, Linus, Jeffrey, and Myron and two daughters, Lila and Iris. Kathleen worked as a teacher aide at the Belcourt Schools for 37 years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, cooking and having everyone over to her home for meals, visiting with her brothers and sisters, and traveling after retirement. She often made bread and even went on the Pow-wow circuit selling her bread to others. Kathleen will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends throughout the community.

Kathleen is survived by her sons, Chris (Sheena), David (Marilyn), Patrick, Linus, Jeffrey, and Myron, all of Belcourt; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and her siblings, Norman St. Claire of Great Falls, MT, Roman "Richard" St. Claire of Belcourt, Roger St. Claire of Bothell, WA, Genevieve Egger of Denver, CO, Elaine Thompson of Rapid City, SD, Veronica Hensley of Ashland, CA, and Jeannie Valentine of Baltimore, MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Virginia St. Claire, husband, Patrick Azure, daughters, Lila and Iris Azure, brothers, James, Dwight, and Michael St. Claire, and sisters, Madeline Peltier and Connie DeCoteau.

Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.
