Obituary

Justin Desjarlais, age 32, of Dunseith, ND passed away on December 29, 2019 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Justin Louis Desjarlais was born on January 23, 1987 in East Grand Forks, MN to Robert Desjarlais and Roxanne Cahoon. He was raised in Dunseith and completed his education there as well. He lived in Hazen for a time, where he made many friends, and was a cook at Sue's Café, a job which he enjoyed and excelled at. Justin was very close to his mother and loved traveling with her, and their dinner visits while trying new restaruants. He enjoyed being around his family, especially his children, who meant the world to him. Justin was very proud of his culture, was very creative and very unique in his style. He was tech savvy, loved horror movies, and he loved to cook. And although life didn't hand him the best of opportunities, he always did the best he could with what he had for his children. He was a brave soul and his children always came first. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and many friends.

Justin is survived by his children, Aiyana and Ezra; grandfather, Bill "Toddy" Burcham; and his siblings, Sarah (Michael) Selburg, Jordan Cahoon, Caedmon (Whitney Ell) Red Thunder, Brandon (Nikki) Cahoon, Robert Norquay, Amos Norquay, Bobbie Jo (Gordon Belgarde) Desjarlais, Jennifer Desjarlais, Janice Desjarlais, and Kimberly (Glen Forehand) Morley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roxanne and Robert, brother, Joshua Morley, and his grandparents.

A funeral service is planned for Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center, Dunseith, ND.
