June St. Claire, age 92, of Rolette, ND passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.

June Angela (DeCoteau) St. Claire was born on February 17, 1932 in Belcourt, ND to Mary Philomene (Longie) and Andrew DeCoteau.  She attended St. Ann's Catholic School and then went on to get her high school diploma in the 90's.  June worked at San Haven as a CNA and also at Grafton State Hospital as a CNA. She then worked at Rolla Hospital as a CNA until retirement.  June was united in marriage to Carl St. Claire Sr. and together they raised 14 children, two grandchildren, and a nephew (Sauna and Crystal (St. Claire) Pratt and nephew Pat St. Claire). June loved to read her bible, listen to gospel music, make blankets, sew, play cards (cheat with her grandson "Boy"), go to the casino, play bingo, and most importantly, she loved to spend time with her family (especially her nieces and nephews).  June was the matriarch of her family and will be missed dearly.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Philomene (Longie) and Andrew DeCoteau, brothers, Paul DeCoteau, Edward DeCoteau, Roderick DeCoteau, Michael DeCoteau, Ambrose DeCoteau, Frank DeCoteau, and Patrick DeCoteau, sisters, Rose Osborne, Marie Staley, Stella Renville, LuAnn Spencer, Vicky DeCoteau, Anna DeCoteau, and Madeline DeCoteau, husband, Carl St. Claire Sr., children, David St. Claire, Janice Peach, Cheryl Adams, Willard St. Claire, Carmelita Renault, Carol Levin, Clayton St. Claire, Carl John St. Claire, and infant children, Alfie and Terri St. Claire, grandsons, Clayton St. Claire Jr.(Boy), Joey Pochant, Erron (Tone) and Ryan (Bear) St. Claire, David Levin Jr., granddaughter, Crystal (St. Claire) Pratt, and great grandsons, Nolan Wilson and Justice Davis.

June is survived by her children, William (Janice) St. Claire, Ervin (Rosie) St. Claire, Stella Strickland, and Claudette Pochant; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

The family would like to apologize if we have missed someone, it was not intentional.

Casket Bearers are all grandsons.

A visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Eagle Heart Cultural Center (Log Cabin) Dunseith, ND.  A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Eagle Heart Cultural Center (Log Cabin), Dunseith, ND.  Burial will take place in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND in the spring.
