Obituary

Joshua Charbonneau, age 37, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Joshua Lavern Charbonneau was born on December 2, 1983 in Rolette, ND to Jeff and Betty (Belgarde) Charbonneau.  He was raised in Dunseith and completed his education at Dunseith Public School in 2002 earning his high school diploma.  He worked various jobs throughout the area.  Joahua was a proud father of four children, Joshua Lavern JR, Payton Cottonwood, Shylin Charbonneau, and Tyrus Charbonneau.  He enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, and spending time at the horse track.  He also loved watching the Dallas Cowboys play and enjoyed going camping.  One thing he loved the most was getting to spend time with family and friends.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his friends and family.

Joshua is survived by his parents, Jeff and Betty Charbonneau of Dunseith; children, Payton Cottonwood, Shylin Charbonneau, and Tyrus Charbonneau, all of Dunseith; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny and Ruth Belgarde and Leonel and Genevieve Charbonneau, son, Joshua Lavern Charbonneau Jr., brother, Dusten Charbonneau, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Casket Bearers are Eugene Parisien, Deray DeCoteau, Conway LaRocque, Jeff Baker, Clark Davis, Jason Norquay, Jim Fleming, Duane Belgarde, and Todd Grant.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.  Eucharistic Gifts by Tom and Gail Krause.  Music by Craig Lunday and Sisters of Our Lady of Gaudelupe.   Readers are Monica Nadeau and Tom and Gail Krause.  Rosary led by Monica Nadea.

A visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM, Father Michael Slovak presiding.  A Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the church with Fr. Tony Hession presiding.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
