Joseph James Bruce Jr., age 14, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, June 20, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Joseph "Tiner Man" James Bruce Jr. was born on September 11, 2005 to Miranda Patnaude and Joseph Bruce Sr. in Grand Forks, ND. Joseph Jr. sustained a brain injury as an infant, and as a result, relied on those around him for his every need. He touched everyone that knew him with his bright smile. Joseph Jr. loved movies (especially Trolls) and music of almost any kind. He loved spending time outside and going on walks. Even though his vision was affected by his injury, he would light up when his siblings and mother entered a room!
Joseph Jr. is survived by his mother, Miranda Patnaude; siblings, Alex Patnaude, JoLyn Bruce, JoZetta Bruce, and Stacey Bruce; grandparents, Myrna Malaterre, Bryant Vallie, Carolyn Keegan, and Raymond Lenoir; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joseph Jr. is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bruce Sr., grandmother, Sue Boyer, grandfather, Richard Bruce, and uncle, Stacey Bruce.
Rosary Service led by Lorrie Patnaude. Readers are Carolyn Keegan and Lorrie Patnaude. Gift Bearers are Heather Lenoir and Bradley Bruce. Pallbearers are Brandon Lenoir, Marlin (Bozzy) Lenoir, Richard Bruce, Jason Bruce, Bradley Bruce, and Marlin Lenoir Sr. Honorary Bearers are all Joe's school principals, teachers, paras, social worker (Midge Thompson), doctors, nurses, classmates, and family.
A visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the church with Fr. Tony Hession presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
