John Trottier, age 78, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

John Lloyd Trottier was born on December 2, 1944 in St. John, ND to Patrick and Agnes (Patnaude) Trottier.  He completed elementary and high school education, furthering his education to eventually obtain a Master's Degree in teaching. John worked at the Turtle Mountain Community College in Belcourt as a professor teaching geology.  He was united in marriage to Linda LaVallie on December 18, 2009.  John was the proud father of Rochelle, Nicole, Sena, Jason, Justin, Eric, and Jade.  He had a wonderful sense of humor, always the jokester in the room.  John enjoyed horse racing, gambling on occasion, and going fishing. He was an avid football fan as well.  John will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

John is survived by his wife, Linda of Belcourt; children, Rochelle Trottier of Los Angeles, CA, Nicole (Terry) Moore of Sumnter, SC, Sena Trottier of Los Angeles, CA, Jason (Danelle) Trottier of Chandler, AZ, Justin (Willow) Trottier of Belcourt, Eric (Shanna) Trottier of Belcourt, and Jade LaVallie of Belcourt; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Kenny Trottier of MT, Bert Trottier of CA, Robert (Kathy) Trottier of Belcourt, Richard (Diane) Trottier of Belcourt, and Verna Simms of Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joe, Ronnie, Glenn, George, Joyce, Joan, Frances, and Sylvia.
