Joan Thompson, age 89, of Rolette, ND passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in Miles City, Montana.

Joan A. Thompson was born on February 24, 1934 in Belcourt, ND to Joseph and Mary (Grant) Tetrault.  She was raised in Rolette and attended school there as well.  Joan was united in marriage to Frank Jerome and together they had five children, Dennis, Thomas, Jeff, Harvey, and Roxanne.  She worked at the William Langer Jewel Bearing Plant in Rolla from 1962 to 1997.  Joan later married the love of her life, Bennie Thompson, and together they had a son, Chad.  She enjoyed playing cards, visiting, cooking meals for family and friends, and puzzles of all kinds.  Joan loved her family dearly, even growing to love her grand pups (they loved her too) and was in turn loved by them and all who knew her.  She was very giving and always looked to help those in need.  Joan was very independent up until her death.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends.

Joan is survived by her sons, Chad (Dawn) Thompson of Surrey and Dennis (Laurie) Jerome of Miles City, MT; daughter, Roxanne (Robert) Ortega of Fresno, CA; sister, Shirley Anderson of Minot; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her like a mother after their own passed.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Tetrault, husband, Bennie Thompson, sons, Thomas, Jeff, and Harvey, brothers, Gene, Lawrence, and Joe "Buzzy," and sisters, Irene, Dorothy, and Frankie.

A Rosary Service will be held at 2:15 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rolette, ND. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rolette, ND.  Burial will follow funeral services at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Rolette, ND. Father Petro Ndunguru presiding.
