Jennifer LaRocque-Counts, age 43, of St. John, ND passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 in Dunseith, ND.

Jennifer Lynn LaRocque-Counts was born on February 10, 1982 in Trenton, ND to Kenneth LaRocque and Laurie (LaFromboise) LaRocque.  She was raised in St. John, ND and graduated from St. John High School.  She furthered her education at United Tribes College.  Jennifer was united in marriage to Tad Counts, he preceded her in death.  She was the proud mother of three children, Jes, Aurora, and Hayden.  Jennifer loved cooking, her passion, and worked at the Trenton casino as a cook.  She enjoyed the outdoors hunting with her father, riding horses, and was an animal lover, bringing all kinds of animals home.  Jennifer loved her family dearly and time spent with them.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Jennifer is survived by her children, Jes LaRocque of Minot and Aurora Counts of Williston; siblings, Genista (Jesse) Hill of Elkton, VA, Kenneth LaRocque Jr. of Grand Forks, and Tasha (Bradley) Courtney of St. John; nieces and nephews.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, son, Hayden Counts, husband, Tad Counts, grandmother, Joann LaRocque, cousin, Kimberly Hodell, and aunt, Bobbie Jo Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow funeral services at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John, ND. Father Richard Fineo presiding.
