Jennie Jaymes Danks, age 37, of Belcourt and Mandaree, North Dakota passed away on March 15th, 2025 at the Trinity Health hospital in Minot, North Dakota.
Jennie was born on March 20th,1987 to Kenneth Danks and Marilyn Baker Danks in Bismarck, North Dakota. Jennie's early education started in Mandaree, North Dakota where she attended the Mandaree Head Start for 2 years before moving to Belcourt, ND where she was raised and continued her education. She attended the Ojibwa Indian School for her elementary and middle school education, followed by attending the Turtle Mountain Community High School as a freshman and Rolla High School as a sophomore, which was the highest grade of education she completed due to her health issues as a diabetic.
On July 18th, 2007, Jennie became the mother of her beautiful daughter Canyon Jade Danks. Jennie spent the majority of her adult life as a stay-at-home mom / homemaker to her daughter Canyon.
Jennie valued family always talking about getting together for the holidays to cook and bake. Jennie had many passions in life including music, art, traveling but of all her passions she loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed finding new recipes online to cook for her family. Jennie also loves spending time out at Skunk Bay where she would go fishing, swimming, boating, and riding horse. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends reminiscing about what she called "the good old days".
Jennie is survived by her daughter, Canyon Danks of Bismarck, North Dakota; her father, Kenneth Danks of Mandaree North Dakota; brother, Marty (Melanie) Foote of Parshall, North Dakota; sisters, Anne Rocquette and Kate Danks, both of Bismarck, North Dakota, Danielle Danks of Minot, North Dakota; and she is also survived by 6 nieces and 3 nephews.
Jennie was preceded in death by her mother Marilyn Baker Danks, her paternal grandparents, James Danks and Elsie Danks, maternal grandparents George Sr. and Mary Baker, three aunts, nine uncles, and three cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 24, 2025 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND. A meal will take place at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND following services, all are welcome to attend.
