Jeanette Florence Nadeau, Niizhwaaso Asinishkode "Seventh Rock in the Fire," was born on November 4, 1965 in Belcourt, ND to Andrew and Elizabeth (Champagne) Nadeau.
She was raised as a young girl in Bennett, CO and then moved to Belcourt where she completed her education. Jeanette furthered her education at Turtle Mountain College obtaining an associate degree.
Jeanette's employment included Uniband data entry, Dunseith Manufacturing Plant, Alco, and the Green Thumb Program. She was a jack of all trades and when her health started to decline, she devoted her time to volunteering and community service. She was a huge part of developing and working for Free Community Events such as Elder Turkey Giveaways, Community Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas for Vets, Family Week, Feeding and clothing the homeless and was instrumental in bringing back the Labor Day Powwow to Belcourt. Jeanette was a beloved daughter, sibling, and aunt. She enjoyed helping others and was an avid football fan, cheering on her Denver Broncos. Jeanette volunteered to sell concessions and pull tabs at the Powwow bingos. She loved to joke around with everyone and be a social butterfly. She was a fabulous cook and baked raisin pies with beautiful design crusts as well as her banana split cakes.
Jeanette enjoyed traveling to new cities and visiting all of her friends. She enjoyed the Powwow's, making crafts, and being an Auntie. She took great lengths in making sure everyone was remembered and had a birthday gift, an anniversary gift, or just because she loved you gift. Selling t-shirts at the Powwow and serving on the committee was her Pride. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
