Janice St. Germaine, age 84, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Janice Joy St. Germaine was born on November 28, 1940 in Devils Lake, ND to Carl and Louise (Peer) Olson.  She began her education in Devils Lake and was then raised in Rolla and completed her education there as well.  Janice worked as a waitress at the Canteen in Rolla, where she met her husband of 57 years, James St. Germaine, they were married on October 1, 1990 in St. John. Together they raised five children, Joel, Julie, Jeanine, Waylon, and Randy. Janice also worked in the Rolla School cafeteria as a cook. She enjoyed spending many summers at Mouse River Park where she was a groundskeeper.  The highlight of those summers was visiting with the campers and meeting new people. She was a wonderful stay at home mom, raising not only her own children but many foster children as well throughout the years.  Her home was always full of kids, laughter, and joy.  After moving back to Belcourt, she began work at Skydancer Casino as a receptionist. Janice enjoyed sewing, making everything from clothing to blankets.  She made sure all of her children and grandchildren had a quilt made with love, winning many 1st place ribbons at the ND State Fair for her quilts.  Her favorite sewing project was the white silk baptismal dress she made for her granddaughter.  Janice was very crafty, making holiday gifts every season, especially for her kids and grandkids school teachers. Janice will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Janice is survived by her children, Joel (Marilyn) St. Germaine of Brookings, SD, Julie Frank of Belcourt, Jeanine St. Germaine of Bessemer City, NC, and Randy Miller of Minot; grandchildren, Candis, Kristi, Jocko, Jawntae', Nevaeh, Naiyah, Tacinca, Mike, Rachel, Mya, and Anielya; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Judy Hoffman of Cando; and Godchild, Tracy Mears DeCoteau of Rolla.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Louise Olson, husband, James St. Germaine, and son, Waylon St. Germaine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 21, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Father Richard Fineo presiding. Burial will follow services at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John, ND.
