Janelle Gourneau, age 56, of Rock Lake, ND passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at SMP-St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Janelle A. Gourneau was born on January 19, 1969 in Belcourt, ND to Stanley and Maxine (Delonais) Gourneau.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  Janelle was a wonderful homemaker and mother to three children, Clifford Jr., Donovan, and Shiree. She enjoyed time spent with her family members, her children, grandchildren, mother, siblings, and her companion, Bruce Johnson. Janelle liked to go fishing and playing pool.  She also enjoyed playing video games on her phone and watching television, especially her favorite show, Heartland.  Janelle often prayed the Rosary as well.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Janelle is survived by her children, Clifford Belgarde Jr. of Belcourt, Donovan Belgarde of Belcourt, and Shiree Belgarde of Belcourt; three grandchildren, Amia Belgarde, Donovan Belgarde Jr., and Ayanna Belgarde; mother, Maxine Gourneau of Belcourt; siblings, Arla Gourneau of Belcourt, Alex Gourneau of Alexandria, MN, Margie Gourneau of Belcourt, Grace Bogardus of Belcourt, Sandy (Robert) Azure of St. John, and Keith Gourneau of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Janelle was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Gourneau, brother, Kevin Gourneau, and grandchild, Wayne Belgarde.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM led by Sharon Ballow, Carol Gourneau, and Betty Jean Davis, prior to the funeral mass. Father Richard Fineo presiding.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
