James Ouellette, age 57, of St. John, ND passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at his home.

James Curtis Ouellette was born on July 1, 1965 in Rolla, ND to LeRoy and Margaret (Bertrand) Ouellette.  He was raised in St. John and completed his education at St. John High School, graduating in 1983.  James worked at Gustafson Oil in Rolla for many years as a shop attendant, as well as North Central Tire in Rolla. He was often found spending time with his family and friends.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, doing whatever they asked him to do, whether it be four-wheeling, playing with toys, or playing outside.  He liked to tinker, and he had a knack for fixing things.  James also liked to go four-wheeling and hunting.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and many friends throughout the community.

James is survived by his siblings, Peggy (Ryan) Charbonneau of St. John, Alan Ouellette of Grand Forks, Eli (Brenda) Ouellette of Rolla, Lee (Rachel) Ouellette of Rolla, and Shannon Ouellette of Rolla; nieces and nephews, Dillon (Dayle) Ouellette, Chad (Nadine) Ouellette, Bailey (Emmett) Blee, Shayla Ouellette, Shane Ouellette, Rhyan Charbonneau, Tyler Charbonneau, and Rhylie Charbonneau; and great nieces and nephews, Kinsley Ouellette, Karson Ouellette, Zander Ouellette, and Zoey Ouellette.

James was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Margaret Ouellette and his brother, Shane Ouellette.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Ryan and Peggy Charbonneau residence at 1:00 p.m.
