Jacob Alexander McCloud, age 35, of Dunseith, North Dakota, passed away on March 28, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck following a lengthy illness.

Born on October 11, 1990, Jacob was raised in rural Dunseith by his loving parents, Peter and Pamela McCloud, in a beautiful country home. He graduated from Turtle Mountain Community High School and was known for his exceptional musical talent and his love for all genres of music. He frequently played in the school band at basketball games and enjoyed singing, often winning karaoke contests. Jacob worked as a ski and snowboard instructor at the Bottineau Winter Park, Big Sky Winter Park in Montana, and in Canada, and later as a cook at the A Frame Bar and Grill. He shared an inseparable bond with his dog, Bear, spoiling him with "breakfast biscuits"—cheeseburgers from Dale's. He was a diehard Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and was rarely seen without one of his jerseys. Jacob loved to travel, and if there was a concert, he was sure to be there. He was known for his incredible sense of humor, his deep love for his family, and his ability to light up any room he walked into. His nieces and nephews knew that Uncle Jake would spoil them every chance he got. Jacob loved his friends, and he was always the center of attention—entertaining the group and making everyone laugh.

He is survived by his sister, Anna French of Billings, Montana; his brothers, Peter McCloud Jr. and Destin McCloud, both of San Antonio, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jemal French, and aunts and uncles.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Eagle Heart Cultural Center, Dunseith, ND. Father Sam Medley officiating.
