Bernice Davis, age 78, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at her home.

JoAnn Bernice Davis was born on February 17, 1942 in Belcourt, ND to John B. and Mary E. (Thomas) Renault.  She was raised in Belcourt and attended St. Ann's Mission School, completing her high school years at Turtle Mountain High School, except for her sophomore year, she attended Flandreau Indian School.  Bernice furthered her education at Tuttle Mountain Community College, then obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Minot State University and finally her Master's Degree from Central Michigan University.

Bernice was united in marriage to Adrian J. Richard in 1959, in Canada. From that union they had Orie, Donna, Yvette. Yvonne, Jeri Lynn, and Tony. They later divorced.

Bernice was united in marriage to Walter D. Davis on August 17, 1973 in Overly, ND. Walter had, Sandra, and Louis Aiken, a foster son, and later Ryan and Joey were born from this union.

Bernice worked in business and accounting positions at the Turtle Mountain Elementary School, Ojibwa Indian School and then at Turtle Mountain Community College until her retirement in 2012.

She enjoyed watching television, reading, caring for her plants, and visiting with her family members and friends.  Bernice loved having her family members and her grandchildren and great grandchildren over to visit.  She enjoyed going on trips to casinos with her sisters and liked to decorate her home, often displaying photos for her family to enjoy on their visits.  Bernice loved her family dearly and will forever be missed.

Bernice is survived by her children, Sandra (Mike) Champagne of Tempe, AZ, Orie Richard, Donna Richard, Yvette (Dale) Wallette, all of Belcourt, Yvonne (Delbert) LaRocque of Fort Totten, Tony P. (Alice) Davis of Grand Forks, Ryan Davis of Huron, SD, and Joey D. (Karen) Davis of Belcourt; and daughter-in-law, Yvonne Aiken of Belcourt; grandchildren: Bobbie (Mike) McClean, Jon Champagne, and Nathan Champagne, Tempe, AZ.  Jerilynn (Jade Malaterre) Wallette, Jason (Angie) LaRocque, Lisa (Tyrone) Poitra, Laurie (Leland Morin) Wallette, Teresa Aiken, LouAnn Aiken, all Belcourt

Jessica (Alexia LaFountain) Wallette, Bismarck; Jennifer (Leroy) Nelson, Minot, Jeremy LaRocque, Grand Forks, Cody Davis, Trevor Davis, Minot, Laila and Gia Davis, Mary Davis, Grand Forks, and Chandler (Mariah) Davis, Maryland; siblings, Patricia Stuen of Wahpeton, Dorene R. Bruce of Belcourt, Geraldine Cammack of Rolla, Dianne Renault of Aurora, CO, Gary (Stella) Renault of Belcourt, and Dennis Renault of Denver, CO; brothers-in-law, Larry "Chuck" Laducer, Mike Davis, and Pat Davis; and sisters-in-law, Christine Knight, Marie Blue, Agnes Anderson, Ann Meyers, and Alice Patton.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Renault, husband, Walter D. Davis, daughter, Jeri Lynn Richard, foster-son, Louis Aiken, sister, Regina Laducer, brother, Billy Renault, and great granddaughters, Leyna Morin, Eliana Joy and Khara Love Nelson.

Funeral Services will be held at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Belcourt on Monday, November 16 ^th at 10:00 am. A rosary will be held prior to the service.
