Ivan Hamley, age 73, of Rolla, ND passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at University of Minnesota-Fairview Hospital, Minneapolis, MN.

Ivan Patrick Hamley was born on March 23, 1952 in Belcourt, ND to Joseph and Marie (LaFromboise) Hamley.  He was raised in Rolla and completed his education at Rolla High School.  He furthered his education at college in Grand Forks for four years obtaining a fine arts degree.  Ivan worked as a librarian at the Belcourt Library for many years. He enjoyed reading, working on art projects, especially copy painting, and creating models like airplanes.  He liked watching many television programs like Star Trek, Sci-Fi movies such as paranormal "Tracker" mysteries, and the Twilight Zone. Ivan was a wonderful son and brother.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Ivan is survived by his siblings, Michael "Mike" Hamley of Devils Lake, Shirley Hamley of Rolla, Jolene Dalbec of Carrington, Richard (Diane) Hamley of Washington State, and David Hamley of Jamestown; nieces, Michelle, Missy, and Channel; and nephews, Kenny, Phillip, Jeremy, and Andy.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie Hamley, sister, Anita Shirk, brothers, Dennis Hamley, Darwin Hamley, and Reginold Hamley, nephew, Jason Hamley, and brother-in-law, Warren Dalbec.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla, ND with Father Thai Arul presiding.  Burial will follow funeral services at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Rolla, ND.
