Ida Marie (Hefter) Mattson, passed away on March 8, 2024, in Fargo, ND at the age of 87.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla, ND.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Lunch will be served immediately following the service.

Ida was born on October 1, 1936, in Sherwood, ND.  She was a humorous and caring individual who touched everyone's heart.  She was a stay-at-home farm wife her entire life and found joy in playing bingo, gardening, watching Polka, and supporting her beloved Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team.

She is survived by her sons, James of Fargo, ND, Mark of Rock Lake, ND, Michael (Julie) of Denton, TX and Randy of Fargo, ND; she is also survived by her grandsons, Wesley of Grand Forks, ND and Aidan (Awki) of North Platte, NE; her brothers, Jack Hefter of Palmdale, CA and Bill (Della) Hefter of Bainbridge, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanore (Fuchs) Hefter; her husband, Russell Mattson; her sisters, Frances Gange, Eleanor Groth, Mary Lou Johnston and Veronica Johnson.

May Ida's soul rest in peace and may her memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
