Harvey Charbonneau, age 61, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Harvey John Charbonneau was born on May 9, 1959 to Genevieve (Parisien) and Leonel Charbonneau and Frank St. Claire.  He started his education at Roussin School and later went to Wahpeton Indian School, finishing his education at Belcourt High School.  During his teen years, he took up the hobby of boxing with Richard St. Claire, his coach and mentor.  Harvey was very successful with his boxing career, earning many trophies and titles.  He met Sherry Crissler and together they had two daughters, Lynelle and Jessica Charbonneau.  He worked many trades, constructed pole barns with the Abrahamson's, roofing with Lloyd Counts, and masonry/construction work with Richard St. Claire.  He also worked on the construction of the new school in Belcourt.  Harvey married Sharon Amyotte and they later separated.  He then had a relationship with Roxy Delorme.

Harvey loved to spend time with his friends and his family.  He liked to play cards, go fishing, have a drink on occasion, and tell stories.  Harvey was a jokester and liked to tease, having a wonderful sense of humor.  He will be greatly missed by all of those who loved and cared for him.

Harvey is survived by his daughters, Lynelle Charbonneau of Belcourt and Jessica Charbonneau of Mandan; sisters, Judith (Blaine "Slugger" Davis) Charbonneau of Dunseith, Diane Willis of Audubon, MN, Jeannie St. Claire, Vironica St. Claire, and Gennie St. Claire, all of Belcourt; brothers, Jeff (Betty) Charbonneau, Kenneth "Cowboy" (Sandra) Charbonneau, both of Dunseith, Richard St. Claire, Norman St. Claire, and Roger St. Claire, all of Belcourt; grandchildren, Kylee Morin, Ryan Lee Morin Jr., Jayden Charbonneau, McKenzie Charbonneau, Arlyss Charbonneau, Mercedes Kaylynn Charbonneau, Brendan Lee Patnaude, Ryan Lucas St. Claire Jr., and Rick Jay St. Claire; great grandchildren, Bryan Lee Morin III and Braylen Morin; and many nieces and nephews.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Genevieve and Leonel Charbonneau and Frank St. Claire, brothers, Sherman Charbonneau, Eugene Charbonneau, Dwight Charbonneau, Alan Charbonneau, Joseph St. Claire, and Jim St. Claire, and sisters, Kathy Charbonneau-Dahlberg, Kathleen Azure-St. Claire, Connie DeCoteau, and Madeline St. Claire.

Casket Bearers are Iggy Azure, Jr. Azure, OT Azure, TJ Poitra, Chad Lilley, and Troy Lacroix.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
