Harold Thompson, age 93, of Rolette, ND passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Heart of America Hospital, Rugby, ND.

Harold Warren Thompson was born on January 25, 1933 in Rolette, ND to Lloyd and Judith (Strand) Thompson.  He was raised in Rolette and completed his education at Rolette High School, graduating in 1951.  Harold furthered his education at Concordia College in Minnesota and Minot State College, earning degrees in education and music. He also was a member of the marching band playing the tuba.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1956 and received an honorable discharge in 1958.  Harold worked as an elementary teacher at the St. John School and as a barber in Devils Lake.  He enjoyed traveling in his younger years as well as carpentry.  Harold was a faith filled man, a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren Church in Rolette. He enjoyed playing piano, singing in choirs, and learning history. He was a faithful caregiver for many years, a kindhearted man, and liked being outdoors bird watching. Harold will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Harold is survived by nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Lois Garrity, Dorothy Retty, Donald Thompson, and Rachel Barksdale.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren Church, Rolette, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM.  Burial will follow funeral services at North Ox Creek Cemetery, Rolette, ND. Pastor Gene Wilson officiating.
