Harold Blessum, age 68, of Rolette, ND, formerly of Wolford, ND, died on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at his home in Rolette.

Harold Allen Blessum was born November 21st, 1956 in Rolette, ND to Clarence and Shirley (Horswill) Blessum.  He was raised in Wolford, ND and attended school there, graduating in 1976.  He married Louise Campbell on June 14th, 1976 at the Wolford Lutheran Church.  They resided in Rugby for a short time before moving to a farm south of Mylo.  While they were married, they had one daughter, Jeannie.  The couple divorced in 2006.  In 2009, he was married to Jackie (LaRocque) Langan.  This marriage later ended.

During his early years, Harold worked as a truck driver.  He then started his career in the agriculture industry, working at the Agate and Mylo Elevators and the Churches Ferry Elevator.  He then spent some years working for Morken Seed Cleaning operating a portable seed cleaner throughout Eastern Montana and North Dakota. After that he worked hauling gravel for Rolette County for a few years, before he returned to the elevator business, working for North Central Grain operating the Egeland Elevator and eventually becoming manager of the Rolette Elevator. After retiring from the elevator, he worked for Rolette County Transit until his retirement in 2021.

Harold enjoyed raising sheep on the farm for many years, along with his two Great Pyrenees sheep dogs, B.J. and Watson.  He also liked to hunt and fish in his younger years. He very much enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends and liked to joke around, tell a good story and have some laughs.  He enjoyed having people over for campfires and grilling out.  He was always willing to help someone if the need arose. He was very proud of his three grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyle and Kassie.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Jeannie (Randy) Schell of Mylo; grandchildren, Kaylee of Rugby, Kyle and Kassie of Mylo; brother, Mike (Margo) Blessum of Petersburg; sisters, Julie Blessum (Leland Fosness) of Tolna and Jan Kruk of Carson; nieces and nephews, Jason and Chad Blessum, Michelle (Blessum) Gorder, Michael and Amanda Kruk, and Logan Fosness; as well as 5 great nieces; aunts, Lorraine (Blessum) Douglas of Circle Pines, MN and Blanche (Horswill) Gill of Apache Junction, AZ; and many first cousins.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Shirley, and many aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 at Wolford Lutheran Church, Wolford, ND.  Pastor Wally Fretland officiating.  Burial will take place at Island Lake Cemetery, Rolette, ND in the spring of 2025.
