Gordon Machipiness-Fandrick, age 32, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at his home and found peace in God's loving care.

Gordon Elijah James Machipiness-Fandrick was born to Gordon Machipiness and Luella Walter on February 14, 1988. He came to live with Jim and Joyce Fandrick when he was 5 years old and in 2007, he legally became their son even though he had always been since the day he came to live with them. He was raised in the Dunseith area and completed his education at Turtle Mountain Community High School in 2006. Gordon went into the National Guard straight out of high school, where he was able to experience many new countries, and completed a deployment to Kosovo in 2010. He received two medals during his military service.

Gordon was well known for his love of music. He learned to play the guitar and started to work on his original music. While in Kosovo, he recorded a few original pieces. He also recorded many videos of himself singing and playing guitar on social media. Friends said he would just pop up with a guitar out of nowhere. Gordon was a wonderful chef studying at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Minneapolis. He was a student in Media Arts at United Tribes Technical College. Gordon was good at everything he tried. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a natural comedian with an infectious laugh. Gordon was always laughing and had a smile whenever he saw you. He had a huge heart and he was a great father.

Gordon is survived by his mother, Joyce Fandrick-Dumont; sons, Xander Elijah Gene Machipiness and Jax Bonn; biological brothers, Jordan (Ricqual) Machipiness-Fandrick of Dunseith, Glendale Walter of Belcourt, and Frank Walter of Fargo; biological sister, Jaycee Walter of Dunseith; and his adoptive siblings, many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his father, Jim Fandrick, his beautiful daughter, Alissa Rose Brooks Laducer, and grandparents, Ernest and Beatrice Poitra.

Pall Bearer is Jordan Machipiness-Fandrick. Honorary Bearers are all brothers and sisters.

A visitation will begin at 8:00 AM on Monday, May 18, 2020 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with a Rosary Service at 9:30 AM and Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith, ND. Military Honors by the Lilley-Dionne American Legion of Belcourt, ND, Archie-Jardine American Legion of Dunseith, and the Military Funeral Honor Guard of Grand Forks, ND.
