Gordon Gefroh, age 91, of Rolla, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Gordon G. Gefroh was born on April 5, 1932 in Rolette, ND to John and Emelia (Arnold) Gefroh.  He grew up on his parent's farm in Maryville Township with his brother, John Jr. and sister, Corenne, all helping out on the farm from a young age, as farming took a contribution from all family members as a whole.  Gordon held much responsibility at a young age and had little fear of tackling what was ahead.  He graduated from Rolla High School and was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Mickelson on June 18, 1952. Together they had five children and started out as tenant farmers, with the intention of leasing and then buying farmland.  As Gordon and Dorothy had their highs and lows, God, both blessed them and tested them, enduring both great love and great loss.  Gordons unending faith in God was present throughout his life.  He sought to continue self-education, often sharing his newly found knowledge with a smile to others.  He was a farmer at heart who knew the land and was a steward of the job worth doing well, which was more than a story to him.  He enjoyed auction sales, often bidding up an opposing bidder, and ended up with many treasures. Gordon was "a special person with fabulous bits of wisdom" (Phil Kasper). "Gordy" will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Gordon is survived by his daughters, Gwen (Darwin) Carpenter of Rolette and Cynthia (Jerry) Sparrow of Fort Madison, IL; grandchildren, Joshua (Davina) Sparrow, Katrina (Michael) Chapman, Crystal (Colin) McGill, Stephanie (Armondo) Cerecedes, Erika (Wes) Ussery, Gabe Juntunen, and Bailey Gefroh; great grandchildren, Keegan, Kadence, Michael III, Conan, and Tora; and nieces and nephews.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emilia Gefroh, wife, Dorothy Gefroh, daughter, Lila Gefroh, sons, Gregory and Gary Gefroh, sister, Corenne McAtee, and brother, John Gefroh Jr.

Honorary Bearers are Mario Lemieux, Aaron Mattson, Brendon Mattson, Josh Sparrow, Brandy Gefroh, Jeff Azure, Jake Gefroh, Katrina Chapman, Stewart Azure, and Johnny Gefroh IV. Readers are Sandy Mitchell. Eucharistic gifts by Cherie Nicolai and Steven McAtee. Special music by Candice Allery, Denise Lagasse, and Paula Grosinger. Rosary led by David "Doc" Brien.

A Rosary Service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 7:00 PM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla, ND.  A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla, ND. Father Thai Arul presiding. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Rolla, ND.
