Geraldine Azure, age 74, of Dunseith, ND passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Heart of America Hospital, Rugby, ND.

Geraldine Theresa Azure was born on July 19, 1951 in Belcourt, ND to Harry and Lena (Gunville) Azure.  She was raised in Dunseith and completed her education there as well, furthering her education for two years at Lake Region College in Devils Lake and finishing her bachelor's degree at University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.  Geraldine worked as a juvenile probations officer for the BIA in Belcourt for many years.  She loved time spent with her family members where she enjoyed sharing and listening to stories.  Geraldine liked the outdoors, gardening, planting her flowers, yardwork, and even small visitors that frequented her yard every year.  She was a wonderful cook and was a devout Catholic, centering her life around her strong faith.  Geraldine was dearly loved by her family members and by many people in the community.  She will be forever missed.

Geraldine is survived by her brother, George Sr. (Cecelia) Azure of Dunseith; sister, Josephine Hall of Dunseith; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lena Azure, sister, Charlene Fluhrer and infant sister, Cecelia Azure.

Casket Bearers are George Azure Jr., Jaymin Williams, Jarrid Azure, Tayden Azure, Randy Fluhrer, David Fluhrer, Everette Fluhrer Jr., and Virgil Schroeder Jr.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND.  Father Samuel Medley presiding.
