Gary Grant, age 63, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Gary Sylvester Grant was born on October 29, 1955 in Rolla, ND to Sylvester and Gladys (Allard) Grant. He was raised at home near Roussin School and also St. Paul, MN until the summer of 1961, Los Angeles, CA for three years, then to Rugby in 1964. He completed his education in Rugby, graduating from Rugby High School in 1973. He furthered his education in Wahpeton, ND for two years at lineman school. Gary was united in marriage to Lorene Morin on March 4, 1994 in Belcourt. He was the proud father of three sons, Mike, Leland, and Gary Jr. and a daughter, Kayla. Gary worked for NW Bell telephone company from 1976 until his retirement in 2006. He loved time spent with his family members, especially his children and his grandchildren. It was a ritual to have Wednesday dinner with his mom and dad, which he greatly enjoyed. Gary liked to go 4-wheeling, taking care of his yard, and riding horses. He also was a jack of all trades, could fix anything, and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Gary enjoyed playing Keno at the casino and visiting with friends. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family members and many friends.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lorene Grant of Belcourt; sons, Mike Grant of Belcourt, Leland (Laurie Wallette) Morin of Belcourt, and Gary (Krista Lawrence) Grant Jr. of Belcourt; daughter, Kayla (Devona Grandbois) Grant of Belcourt; eleven grandchildren; parents, Sylvester and Gladys Grant of Rugby; and a brother, Mark Grant of Rugby.

He was preceded in death by his baby sister, father and mother in law, Lawrence and Shirley Morin and granddaughter, Leyna.

Casket Bearers are Willie LaFromboise, Kevin Juntunen, Frankie Juntunen, John Hunt, Jack Hunt, and Wyatt Bercier. Honorary Bearers are all family and friends. Music by Richard Turcotte and C. Joe Parisien. Rosary led by Alvin and Ella McLeod. Eucharistic Gifts by Cody and Megan Hunt.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Tony Hession, SOLT presiding. Burial will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND. A meal will follow burial services at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
