Garret St. Claire Sr., age 51, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at his home.

Garret James St. Claire Sr. was born on March 26, 1972 in Belcourt, ND to Rodney Hell and Shirley Trottier. He was raised in the Belcourt by Gerry St. Claire and Shirley and completed his education there as well. Garret furthered his education for two years at Turtle Mountain Community College, receiving a certificate in welding.  Garret worked in construction all of his life. He cherished spending time with all of his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, music, and boxing. Garret also loved working with his hands and working on cars. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Garret Sr. is survived by his father, Rodney Hell; mother, Shirley Trottier; step-father, Gerry St. Claire; children, Dani Schiefert, Amber Ford, Heaven Schenstad, Garret St. Claire Jr., Destiny Rose Swagger, Kaitlyn Matheny, Brian St. Claire, Tristan St. Claire, Lloyd St. Claire, Jonathan St. Claire, and LaVita St. Claire; many grandchildren; siblings, Sherri (Louis) Frederick, Curtis St. Claire Sr., Randy (Tina) St. Claire, Janelle (Peter) Kelsch, Markie Lynn St. Claire, Dana Anderson, Alex Hell, Natalie (Norman) Leger, Heidi (Nathan)  Lindholm, Lonnie Murphy, and Byron (Louise) Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

Garret Sr. was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Hell Jr. and grandparents, Marie Blue and Wesley Moore.

Casket Bearers are Louis Frederick, Peter Kelsch, Cam Peltier, EJ Davis, Uriah Davis, and Randy St. Claire Sr. Honorary Bearers are Curtis St. Claire Sr. and all Family and Friends. Eucharistic Gifts by Sherri Frederick and Janelle Kelsch.  Readers are Tahni Parisien and Sunni Parisien.

A visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND. Father Tony Hession presiding. Burial will be held in the Spring at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
