We gather here today with heavy hearts and deep love to honor the life of Frank Henry Grant Sr., who passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, age 74, at the Trinity Health Hospital in Minot, ND. Though we mourn his passing, we also come together to celebrate a life full of love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable memories.

Frank was born on July 16, 1951, in Grafton, North Dakota, to Archie Grant Sr. and Flora (Desjarlais) Grant. He was raised right here in Belcourt, where he valued his family and would always help when he could. Frank was a father to six children: Lori, Frank Jr., Tanya, Gene, James, and Kevin. His love for his family extended far and wide, reaching his 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, each of whom he loved deeply. He found his greatest joy in spending time with them.

Frank wore many hats throughout his life. He worked hard in a variety of roles: as a house mover, a construction worker, at the SkyDancer Casino & Hotel, and in the Red River Valley. But his most meaningful job—one he held closest to his heart—was caring for his forever love, Wanda (Buttons).

Frank enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and trees, fishing, and hunting. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a knack for making anything grow with his hands and his heart. He also had a love for old westerns and classic movies, making "good old memories" with his brothers. He had a special connection with his sister Kathy, with whom he spoke daily, and with his dear friend Darrin Head.

He is survived by his beloved Wanda (Buttons) Grant; his children Lori (Glen) Goulet, Frank (Joy) Grant Jr., Gene Grant Sr., James (Colinda) Grant, Kevin Grant Sr. all of Belcourt, Tanya Grant (Robby Parisien) of Rolette; 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; his sisters Kathy (Bill) Vote, JoAnn (Peter) Hamley, and Brenda Grant all of Belcourt, Angela Grant of Rolla; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Flora (Desjarlais) Grant, his siblings Eleanor Amyotte, Shirley Azure, Joseph Desjarlais, John Grant, Archie Grant Jr., and Larry Grant, along with his brother-in-law, Paul (Lavern) Azure.

Frank Henry Grant Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength. He was a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived fully. While his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will live on in the planting he did, the stories he told, and the family he so dearly loved.

Rest peacefully, Frank. You will be missed beyond words but remembered always with love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND. Father Michael Slovak presiding.
