Francis "Butch" Belgarde Sr., age 73, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Francis Joseph "Butch" Belgarde Sr. was born on October 18, 1948 in Belcourt, ND to Alex "Chiboy" Belgarde and Cecelia Clemetson.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Butch was the father of five children, Francis Jr., Sheila, Shannon, Sherry, and Cheryl.  He worked in security for the Belcourt Police Department, Turtle Mountain Housing, as a janitor for the St. John School, at the commodity warehouse, as well as working at Skydancer Casino in Belcourt. Butch enjoyed being outdoors gardening and doing lawn care, as well as fishing on occasion.  He had a wonderful sense of humor, often teasing those around him for fun.  Butch will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Butch is survived by his children, Francis Jr. (Shelli) Belgarde of Fort Yates, Sheila (Harold) Belgarde of Georgia, Shannon Belgarde of Jamestown, Sherry (Pat) Belgarde of Rolla, and Cheryl Belgarde of Belcourt; 13 grandchildren, Ricky, Anthony, Mercedes, Sheena, Joshua, Chelsea, Jacob, Jessica, Justice, Jesse Jr., McKayla, McKenzie, and Easton; a great grandson, Pat Cree Jr.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Dennis Hoeger.

Wake services will be Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.  Due to the rise in Covid masks are required, limited family.
