Ferdinand "Shy" DeMontigny, age 77, of Rolette, formerly of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.

Ferdinand Paul "Shy" DeMontigny Jr. was born on July 13, 1943 to Ferdinand Sr. and Alice (Trottier) DeMontigny.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Shy was united in marriage to Shirly and together they had two daughters, Sheila and Becky, they later divorced.  He was married to Peggy Bonnell and together they had two daughters, Lorna and Stacey, they later divorced.  Shy worked various jobs throughout the years including for a muffler company in Minnesota.  He enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends and also going to the casino on occasion.  Shy loved to be around his family and his friends.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Shy is survived by his daughters, Sheila Lamier of Texas, Becky Lamier of Texas, Lorna DeMontigny of Minnesota, and Stacey DeMontigny of Minnesota; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy DeCoteau and Kerri Davis; brothers, Dennis DeMontigny, Edward DeMontigny, and Robert DeMontigny; and many nieces and nephews.

Shy was preceded in death by is parents, and his siblings, Patrick, Franklin, Rene, and Gerald DeMontigny, Rachel Dionne, and Helen Thomas.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
