Esther Krumwiede, age 97, of Rolla, ND passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2024 at SMP-St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Esther Marcella Krumwiede was born on March 31, 1927 in Langdon, ND to Earl and Ann (Heibert) Radway.  Her parents later divorced and Ann married Ernest Gamsby, who became a wonderful step-father and father of nine children.  Esther was united in marriage to Clarence Krumwiede on March 3, 1945 and together they lived in the Perth and Mylo area for a few months before moving to Calvin where they raised three children, Sheri, Edward, and William.  While in Calvin, they ran the Calvin Bar and farmed.  Esther was active in the Sarles Lutheran Church, Sarles Legion Ladies Auxiliary, quilting club, and fixed hair for many as well.  In 1974, Clarence and Esther moved to Rolla and continued farming. While in Rolla she helped out with the Rolla Skating Rink, Rolla Arts Council, Rolla Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she helped with quilting and many other church activities.  She enjoyed going to the lake, dancing, decorating and remodeling her home, and especially visiting with family and friends.  In 2019, Esther moved to Parkview Assisted Living in Rolla where she enjoyed time spent with many friends. Esther will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Sheri (Gary) Romfo of Williams, MN; son, Edward (Penny) Krumwiede of Sarles; six grandchildren, Marcie, Melissa, Monica, Cindy, Denise, and Wade; 15 great grandchildren, Alex, Brandi, Brady, Charlie, Kendall, Kasey, Chase, Dakota, Kaylee, Kyle Kourtney, Nevaeh, Briana, Tanner, and Myranda; seven great great grandchildren; sister, Gladys (Chuck) Mueller of Wisconsin; brother, George (Virginia) Gamsby of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Krumwiede, son, William Krumwiede, son-in-law, Willis Romfo, sisters, Tesse, Linda, Florence, Mary, and Ethyl, brothers, Clarence, Ernest, and Francis, great grandson, Maxwell, and great great granddaughter, Ember.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 7:00 PM at Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Rolla, ND with Dave Schnackenberg officiating.  Burial will take place at the Sarles Cemetery, Sarles, ND.
