Ernest Wallette Jr., age 72, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Ernest James Wallette Jr. was born on October 17, 1953 in Belcourt, ND to Ernest Sr. and Delores (Azure) Wallette.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  He was the proud father of three children, Joshua, Eben, and Joshua. He worked as a casino supervisor in Washington.  Ernest enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and being on the water in his younger years.  He loved time spent with his family members, especially his companion of over 40 years, Cindy, and his dog, Jessica, and cat, Baby Cat. Ernest also liked to travel. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Ernest is survived by his companion, Cindy Boyce of Belcourt; children, Joshua Bradford of Belcourt, Even Johnson of Spokane, WA, and Joshua Boyce of Spokane, WA; father, Ernest Wallette Sr. of Spokane, WA; siblings, Helen Trottier, Judy (Robert) Wallette, Bruce Wallette, Shane Wallette, Penny (Juan) Lattergrass, Melinda DeCoteau, Melvin DeCoteau, Lola Les'perance, Gail Les'perance, and Leah (Richard) Brisbo; mother-in-law, Lola; and nieces and nephews.

Ernest was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Wallette, sisters, Delia, Lisa, and Roxanne, niece, Billie Jo Wallette, and brother-in-law, Alfred Trottier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2026 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.
