Ernest Randa, age 88, of Rolla, ND passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 at his home.

Ernest Christian Randa was born on May 25, 1935 at home in Towner County, ND to Allen and Margaret (Mehr) Randa.  He was raised in Towner County and at a young age was united with the Elmer and Ruth Johnson's loving family where he lived throughout his younger years. He furthered his education obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Education. Ernest was united in marriage to Marilynn Bishop on August 24, 1970 in Beach, ND.  Together they raised three sons, Paul, Alan, and Eric.  Ernest was a teacher for 12 years in Rutland, St. John, and Laverne.  After teaching, he worked in construction for 29 years and worked on water treatment plants in many states including North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Minnesota. He enjoyed his journeys, making friends and meeting new people on a regular basis.  He and his family lived in Valley City for many years while he traveled for work and later moved to Rolla where he was always available to help out anyone in need, spreading his faith in God to those throughout the community in the form of giving and helping those around him.  Ernest loved his work, fixing many different things, and he was a wonderful cook and avid gardener.  He was a humble and loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Ernest was a member of the Eagle's in Valley City and currently a member of the United Methodist Church in Rolla. Ernest will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Marilynn Randa of Rolla; sons, Paul (Jamie) Randa of Rolla, Alan (Holly) Randa of Nashville, TN, and Eric Randa of Valley City; grandchildren, Stauffer, Mitchell, Franklin, and Theo Randa, Brendan (Taylor) Kelley, Harold Myer, and Glynda (Anthony) Cardott; great grandchildren, Colbie, Brayden, Kylan, Kara, and Lars; siblings, Beverly Boucher of Bottineau, Karen Desjarlais of Belcourt, Duane Randa of Buffalo, MO, Kenneth Randa of Granville, Ron Randa of Minot, Jim Johnson of West Fargo, Andy (Peggy) Johnson of Grand Forks, Lorenda (Tom) Mackrell of Brier, WA, Lloyd (Judy) Johnson of Chatham, IL, and Brenda (Mike) Anderson of Salem, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Alphonse Randa, Eugene Randa, Eleanor Gordon, Elaine Gusaas, Sister Francine Randa, Delores West, and Euna Straub.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Methodist Church, Rolla, ND.
